De Morris Walker

Bio

Dr. De Morris Walker is the Director of Summer Session Initiatives at Georgia Tech. Prior to joining Tech in January 2017, Dr. Walker worked in the Office of Summer Session at Clemson University, while earning his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. He brings nearly 10 years professional experience in higher education, including roles in student affairs and academic affairs at the University of California, Santa Barbara; California Polytechnical Institute, Pomona; and Morehouse School of Medicine, Inc.

Dr. Walker’s doctorate from Clemson University explored how a summer pre-college program fostered parent and family engagement among their program participants, who would be first-generation college students.  He has an M.B.A. from Claremont Graduate University and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

He enjoys visiting family and friends in Southern California and Louisiana; spending time with his wife and two daughters; and being a “Dance Dad” with his daughters’ dance studio.

Bio

Christina Wan is the Assistant Director of Summer Session Initiatives at Georgia Tech. Christina received an M.Ed. from the University of Florida, and a B.A. from Trinity University. Christina has experience working in residence life, multicultural affairs, and career & leadership programs. She is a past recipient of the SACSA New Professional Award, NASPA-Florida Graduate Student of the Year, NASPA Multiracial Knowledge Community Outstanding Member award, and NASPA Campus Safety & Violence Prevention Knowledge Community Hero award.

When she is not working, Christina can be found studying, as she is also a Ph.D. student in Georgia State University’s Department of Sociology. 

Shelby Kuehl

Bio

Shelby Kuehl currently serves as the Interim Assistant Director for the iGniTe Virtual Program. Shelby received her M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from Georgia Southern University and her B.A. from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL. In addition to working with the Summer Sessions Office, and teaching a GT1000 track, Shelby also serves as the Assistant Director for Events in the Undergraduate Admission Office. In her free-time she enjoys getting out in the sunshine and hiking, as well as spending time with her husband and two dogs, Toby and Zeus.

Lily Arnold

Bio

Lily Arnold is a third-year Literature, Media, and Communication (LMC) major from Atlanta, Georgia. She is also pursuing certificates in Marketing and Industrial & Organizational Psychology. Lily has been working in the Summer Sessions Office since May 2020 and attended the iGniTe program as a summer first-year in 2019.

In addition to working in the Summer Sessions office, Lily is a member of the iGniTe Advisory Board and is involved in Greek Life. She is also a GT 1000 Team Leader and tutors for the EXCEL program.

Bio

Taylor Gray is a fourth-year Literature, Media, and Communication (LMC) major from Winder, Georgia. She is also pursuing a minor in Law, Science, and Technology. Taylor has been working in the Summer Sessions Office since May 2019 and attended the iGniTe program as a summer first year in 2018.

In addition to working in the Summer Sessions office, Taylor is the Editor-in-Chief of Tech’s student newspaper, the Technique. She is also a GT1000/2000 team leader and the Vice President of Ramblin’ Reck Club.

Bio

Stephen Nash is a fourth-year International Affairs and Modern Languages (IAML-Spanish) major from Habersham County, Georgia. He is also pursuing minors in Ocean Science and Sports, Society, and Technology. Stephen has been working in the Summer and Special Session Initiatives Office since May 2020 and attended the iGniTe program as a summer first year in 2018.

In addition to working in the Summer Sessions office, Stephen is an Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts Ambassador, iGniTe Advisory Board member, Spark Mentor, Learning Community Council Member, GT1000 team leader, and Reimagining Global Philanthropy team lead with Rise Up and Care in the Global Social Entrepreneurship VIP.

Vishal Malla

Bio

Vishal Malla is a third-year Computer Science major from Columbus, Georgia. Vishal worked in the Summer Sessions Office for the Summer 2020 session and is working for Summer 2021 as well. He attended the iGniTe program as a summer first-year in 2019.

Outside of the Summer Sessions Office, Vishal is involved in the iGniTe Advisory Board, SMILE, the Student Government IT Board, and Create-X.
